Amber spent key seasons of her legal career as a Trial Attorney with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), where she handled complex employment litigation before the EEOC and MSPB. She managed every stage of litigation, from discovery through oral argument, and secured multiple summary judgments in favor of the agency.
She also served as legal counsel to HUD’s Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity, where she provided legal guidance in more than 100 Fair Housing Act investigations. Her counsel helped drive successful charges in multiple complex discrimination cases, earning her a reputation for precision and results under pressure.
After leaving HUD, Amber served as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Dallas, managing a wide-ranging docket that included zoning, ordinance enforcement, nuisance litigation, and fair housing. Her ability to assess the landscape, adjust strategies, and deliver results made her a valued team leader on the city’s legal roster.

Amber earned her J.D. from SMU Dedman School of Law, where she competed in national mock trial tournaments and held multiple leadership roles. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with a minor in Economics, from Howard University.
